Amazing. You can literally carry a half-terabyte around in your pocket, though I suggest a sturdy case for this gem of a drive if you do so.
There is actually very little to say about this technological wonder. Western Digital turns out a good product. (But, please, always remember that hard drives are machines: some do break. If the data is available, always have more than one copy.)
The unit is self-powered by the USB ports on most computers. For the few that won't, you can purchase a different cable with two USB plugs, one for transferring data, the other for power.
The relatively low spin rate of the platters and the USB 2.0 connection might leave you feeling that large file transfers are slow compared to faster drives. They are, but that's the state of the art at this time.
Overall, this unit is a wonder: 500 Gigabytes of data capacity in a package that can fit your pocket. A stunning acheivement - and a great gadget to own.
