I have had the external HD for just a week now and I am happy with it. It fits easily in my bag and the cord is short - so I don't have to bother with winding it up. I trust WD brand, so I expect this product to keep my data safe for a relatively long time.
You might want to buy some sort of protective case to keep it from getting scratched.
