The Amazon delivery was awesome and i got the hard drive 36 hours later even though i selected free super saver shipping(at an US address though).So far the hard drive has performed as expected,i've created 2 partitions,one to back up my mac and one to be used for storage of my PC.I have not used it a lot though but so far it does what it is supposed to.A couple of my friends bought it as well and they liked it.I did have the 250GB before but i dropped it from 3 inches above the counter on the counter itself..and it was over with it..based on that experience only , this hard drive gets only 4 1/2 stars...now i know the hard drives must be handled with extra care, i do have several of them,but 3 inches ..really!!.Performance wise, value for the price paid(judging by the actual prices) and the great Amazon delivery could get a 5 star..if WD would find a way to protect it a little better,it would be the perfect externalGet more detail about Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDME5000TN (Midnight Black).
