I have used this device pretty regularly and it does exactly what I intended it to do. I hook it up to my computer via USB, double click on my computer, and the passport drive shows up automatically.
Then I manually copy over the files I want to back up and everything works wonderfully. I believe it comes with software to automate backing up files but I have not found it necessary to try.
It works great right out of the box, no drivers necessary to install. I use it with my Vista 64 bit machine and it works great.
