I have purchased this Western Digital 2 weeks ago. I wanted to use it for both Mac and pc, so I had to format and partition the hard drive according to the specific formats. For Mac I used Extended Journaled case-sensitive (backing up using Time Machine), and for pc I chose FAT. Now it works perfect on both computers. I must mention that the Mac partition (including all the files) cannot be seen on the pc, so I didn't have to protect it in any way. The price was good at that time, and the capacity is really a big plus. I can hardly sense it running, and the speed is quite awesome.
