These drives are great. Here is what I like about them:
1. They are small (about the size of a pocket bible or wallet).
2. They are powered from the usb port (no bulky power supply needed).
3. They are fast.
4. They are reliable (never had a problem with them).
5. They have a large capacity (160GB and up).
I rarely use my usb thumb drive now.
I use a 250GB model at work. I use it to store my work data and vmwares. I run my vmwares from the drive and never had any speed or reliability issues.
