I purchased this hard drive as a backup for my daughter's Apple Powerbook. I have one and I thought this would work as well for her. However, there is a problem, not so much with the Passport itself, but working with the PowerBook. There is insufficient power from the USB port to power the Passport. I believe this should be addressed when marketing the Passport. Older Apple laptops, by that I mean anything older than the recent Macbook's, have insufficient power to drive this devise. Western Digital though, was great about providing a PowerBuste USB cable to use with both USB ports to power the drive. This was not included with the Passport. I was sent the cable after contacting the company about the problem.
