Pros: Small, portable, and fast enough for general file transfers.
Cons: Need to reformat the drive to NTFS if you want to store large files. Needed a Dual USB Power Y Cord in order to use the drive from my Dell laptop.
The harddrive is fast enough for my use. I basically use it as a back up drive and don't plan on running programs directly off of it. There was only two drawbacks. First, I had to reformat the drive to NTFS instead of FAT32 since I wanted to be able to store large files on the drive if necessary. Second, I had to buy a dual USP power Y cord in order to run the drive from my Dell laptop. There wasn't enough power from one USB socket. However, the drive worked with one USB socket if I plugged it into a desktop computer.Get more detail about Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive WDME5000TN (Midnight Black).
