I have friends who use the WD Passport series with their PCs without a hitch, but this external hard drive slowed down my Mac Mini computer to near comatose levels. It even made the Finder freeze--go figure. Had to reboot. I'm assuming the problem is related to the fact that the hard drive is powered by the computer's USB port, and I replaced it with a WD My Book external hard drive of the same size. It works just fine. So Mac Mini users--and perhaps others who use smaller computers--be warned. This may not work as well as you might like.
