I have a 160gb Passport, plus 500gb and 750gb MyBooks and so I thought I was safe with the 500gb Passport. Failure on my Vista64 box was immediate. Actually it would let me begin copies before hosing things up. I tried formatting, reformatting - everything. Every time it was the same, if it even allowed me to begin the copy, it would start then freeze up.
Returned - at least Amazon is head and shoulders above most etailers in handling returns. Gotta give them credit for that.
